Our Story
Some love stories start with a spark, but ours began with a song. We met in high school—just two friends who never thought twice about being anything more. Pawel would call Monica, guitar in hand, nervously playing songs over the phone, asking if he was any good. Monica would laugh and listen, offering words of encouragement, not realizing that those late-night calls would one day become cherished memories of how it all began.
We had mutual friends, went to the same parties, and shared so many moments throughout high school. But to us, we were just Monica and Pawel—nothing more, nothing less. Life moved on, and after high school, we drifted apart, caught up in the whirlwind of growing up and finding our way.
Years passed, and then, in 2020, out of nowhere, Pawel messaged Monica. A simple message quickly turned into a conversation, and before we knew it, we were planning to meet up. Our first date was a walk by the lake in Port Credit—nothing extravagant, just us, catching up like no time had passed. But something was different this time. The way we talked, the way we laughed—everything felt new, yet so familiar.
A few weeks later, on July 16th, 2020, at Dunn Falls, Pawel asked Monica to be his girlfriend. Standing in front of the beautiful waterfall, it felt like the world had finally aligned in our favour. We had been friends for so long, but at that moment, we realized we had found something much deeper—something that had been waiting for the right time all along. Since that day, we've been inseparable, sharing every adventure, every challenge, and every beautiful moment life has to offer.
Then, on February 24th, 2024, while on vacation with our closest friends, Pawel asked Monica one more question—this time, for forever. With the ocean breeze around us and our friends cheering in the background, he got down on one knee and asked Monica to marry him. And just like that, our next chapter began.
Looking back, it's funny how life works. We were always meant to be in each other’s lives—first as friends, then as something much more. Our story isn’t just about love; it’s about timing, friendship, and finding our way back to each other when the moment was finally right. And now, we can't wait to see where the rest of our journey takes us—together, forever.
